NOTES ABOUT MAKING DONATIONS

Special note: From 1 January 2011, all individuals, businesses, companies, etc. that make donations to Institutions of Public Character (IPCs) [which The Salvation Army is one] are required to provide their tax reference numbers (e.g. NRIC/FIN/UEN) to the IPCs in order to be given tax deductions on the donations. With this change, IRAS will no longer accept claims for tax deduction based on donation receipts. Tax reference: Please provide your tax reference under "Add special instructions" and specify special purpose if desired. All donations with valid tax reference numbers will be automatically be given the tax deductions without having to claim for it in the tax returns. Receipts: We will NOT be sending out paper tax-deductible receipts for donations below $50.00 unless specified by donor. If your donation is $50 or more and do not need us to send paper receipts, please also indicate under "Add special instructions", No Receipts Needed.
